Each year from May to November, Sydney sees the migration of the humpback whales passing our shores.

To celebrate the beginning of the season, the whale watching community have launched the Sydney Whale Festival, a yearly event held in Darling Harbour.

The aim of the festival is to foster a greater understanding of the Whales, educate the public about the interaction rules, show people where and how to see them and how to get involved in helping them.

In 2008 the Festival will be held from Friday the 16th of May to Sunday the 18th of May at the Harbourside Amphitheater in Darling Harbour and will be Free to attend.

The theme of this years festival will be: Promoting the conservation and care of marine Mammals

It will be open from 10am to 6pm each day and have events, displays and information on whales and whale watching in the Sydney region, so come along and get involved.
